SL-4095 Hybrid Emergency Downlight
Patented triple-feed downlight engineered for transit tunnels, subway stations, and rail egress. Cascades from 120VAC primary to 600VDC traction-power feed to a 4-hour NiMH battery so the light stays on through normal, abnormal, and emergency power conditions.
Three feeds, one fixture, no dark seconds
When utility power is lost in a transit tunnel, third-rail or catenary traction-power circuits often remain energized for minutes after the trains stop. The SL-4095 detects loss of 120VAC primary and seamlessly switches to the 600VDC traction-power feed without a flicker. If both fail, the on-board 4-hour NiMH battery sustains a code-compliant emergency egress light level until ventilation or evacuation is complete.
- ✓ 120VAC normal operation
- ✓ 600VDC traction-power fallback (third rail / catenary)
- ✓ 4-hour NiMH battery emergency backup
- ✓ 900 lumen output, 4000K neutral white standard
- ✓ ETL listed, IK10 vandal resistant, IP65 ingress rated
- ✓ Stainless hardware, polycarbonate lens, marine-grade enclosure
Power-cascade architecture
The SL-4095 holds light continuously through the three transit-power scenarios MTAs and rail operators design for.
Normal
120VAC building feed powers the fixture in steady-state operation. Full 900 lm output, neutral 4000K white.
Utility outage
Loss of 120VAC triggers instant transfer to 600VDC traction-power. Output sustained while trains de-energize and evacuate.
Full blackout
Both feeds lost. On-board 48V NiMH battery delivers 4 hours of egress-rated lumens at reduced output. Self-test on schedule.
